Privacy Policy — Fermata

1. Overview & Commitment

Fermata and Fermata Pro (referred to as "we," "us," or "the App") are personal mindfulness and delayed gratification spending utilities created by trojanGoat.

Your privacy is paramount. We operate under a simple core principle: your wishlist, personal reflections, and financial intentions belong solely to you. We do not sell your personal data, we do not track you across third-party websites or services, and our application does not display advertisements.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following limited types of information:

Account Information (Google Firebase Authentication): When you sign in with your Google account or email, we collect your email address, display name, and unique user identifier (UID) solely for user authentication and cross-device synchronization.
App Data & Wishlist Content (Cloud Firestore & Local Storage): When you create countdown timers, wishlists, notes, price goals, tags, or archive past items, this information is stored locally on your device (via IndexedDB/localStorage) and synchronized to secure cloud storage (Google Cloud Firestore) associated with your authenticated account.
Device & Technical Diagnostics: Standard technical information necessary for network delivery (such as IP address for HTTPS requests and basic error logs) processed transiently by Google Firebase infrastructure to maintain app reliability.

⚠️ Prohibited Sensitive Financial Data Notice

Fermata is designed strictly as a behavioral delay-timer and wishlist manager. Never enter bank account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, PINs, passwords, or government identification numbers into Fermata. We do not process transactions and do not request sensitive financial credentials.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is strictly used for the following operational purposes:

To provide, operate, and maintain the App’s core features (cooling-off countdowns, wishlist organization, and analytics).
To authenticate your session and synchronize your items across your devices.
To diagnose technical errors, optimize performance, and maintain application security.

We do not use your data for commercial profiling, targeted marketing, behavioral tracking, or automated lending decisions.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third-party data brokers or advertisers. We only utilize trusted cloud infrastructure providers to provide backend services:

Google Firebase (Google LLC): We utilize Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Hosting. Data stored through Firebase is protected by Google’s enterprise-grade security and is processed in compliance with the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security & Storage

All communications between the App and Firebase backend services are encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS / HTTPS).

Your cloud-synced items are governed by strict database security rules that restrict access solely to your authenticated account credentials.

6. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Google Play Compliance)

We retain your account and wishlist data only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App's services.

How to request account and data deletion:

In-App Data Reset: You can clear your local items and preferences directly inside the App by navigating to Settings > Data Management > Reset All Data.
Full Account & Cloud Deletion Request: You may request complete and permanent deletion of your account and all associated cloud data by emailing us at jrazon@gmail.com with the subject line Fermata Account Deletion Request from your registered email address. All user records and associated database entries will be permanently deleted within 30 days of receiving your request.

7. Children's Privacy

Fermata and Fermata Pro are intended for general adult audiences aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in legal requirements or App functionality. The date of the most recent revision will always be displayed at the top of this document.
